Breathe in Breathe out

Updated: Sep 27, 2019

The breathing technique in labour is in through the nose and out through the mouth. In through the nose because that’s how we normally breathe and out through the mouth as it feels more like letting go. The more you practise in pregnancy, the more habitual it becomes during labour. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The purpose of this breathing is minimal effort and being as relaxed as possible. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Just this technique alone will make a difference to hour birth experience. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Believe it or not the mouth relates to the uterus and any tension in the mouth will mean tension in the pelvis. During breathing keep the mouth open and relaxed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
