Hypnobirthing & Me

Use your pregnancy as an opportunity to eat a balanced diet. This should ideally continue once your baby is born as children inherit food habits from their parents. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For many women, cravings can be the first sign of pregnancy. These can range from normal foodstuffs like spicy and salty to extraordinary food stuff like sponges 🤔 No one really knows why women crave certain things but as long as your cravings are not harmful and eaten in moderation as part of a balanced diet then there should be no reason not to indulge. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Common cravings include:
Ice
Chillies
Gherkins
Chocolate
Fruit
Curry
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In fact with Jorja I craved fruit and with Jazmine chocolate!! What did you crave when you were pregnant??
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For those of you who know me well, one of the things I loved most about pregnancy was my weight gain. The average weight gain is 13.8kg (30lbs or 2stone 2lbs). For both pregnancies I gained about 2 and a half stone each time. Weight gain can be broken down as follows:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Baby 3.6kg (8lb)
Placenta 675g (1lb)
Amniotic fluid 900g (2lb)
Growth of uterus 900g (2lb)
Increased breast tissue (my fave 😂) 900g (2lb)
Increased blood volume 1.8kg (4lbs)
Fluid retention in mothers tissues 1.8kg (4lbs)
Increased maternal fat stores 3.2kg (7lbs)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These are approximate of course with most of the weight gain happening in the second trimester. How did you feel about your weight gain?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My advice to you is embrace it, enjoy this wonderful time in growing a human being. .
