For anyone considering a home birth, “Why Homebirth Matters” by Natalie Meddings is a great read. I wanted to share the following 2018-2019 statistics from the Kingston home birth team in relation to home births . 98% of women who started labour at home with the team had a vaginal birth 🏡 91% of women who started labour at home with the team had a home birth 👩🏼‍⚕️👩🏽‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️ . 40% of all home births were water births 🛁 . 46% of women giving birth at home did not need stitches 👏🏻 . 100% of babies born at home breastfed in the first hour of life 🍼 . Heaviest baby 10lbs 8oz 👶🏼 . Lightest baby 5lbs 13oz 👼🏼
