Massage and Touch

Another PHYSICAL COMFORT you can use during labour is MASSAGE and TOUCH. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Research shows massage reduces the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation, relaxes muscles (KEY in labour) and increases endorphins (the body’s natural painkiller). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ During labour you will either love it or hate it. As a birth partner you can pick up on her cues to whether she is benefiting from it or not. Alternatively a simple stroke can work too which has the ability to release lots of pain numbing hormones. During my hypnobirthing course we discuss and practise whatever works best for you individually. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In a previous post I talked about sacral massage/pressure. This can be really helpful during contractions by applying pressure on the lower back. It is especially helpful for easing any discomfort in your lower back (if your baby is OP you may experience lower back pain in early labour so this can help). Your birth partner can be led by you by how much pressure works best for you. Again, this is something we demonstrate in my hypnobirthing course. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another great hypnobirthing TECHNIQUE, knowing and understanding how to apply this during labour.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Any questions on dates currently available for your own private hypnobirthing course, link in bio or feel free to DM me here 😘
