1. Walk – walking every day in the last month of pregnancy is valuable in two ways. Firstly it gets your baby into a good position. Physics alone will help the heaviest part of the baby – the head – to shift down. Having your baby well down in the pelvis means that when the time comes, his or her crown is more likely to be pressing heavily onto the cervix, helping labour to start spontaneously and unfold normally. Secondly, the ritual of daily walking helps you mentally. 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️ 2. Pregnancy yoga – this is a weekly reminder that birth is a matter of letting your baby out, not getting your baby out. 🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️🧘🏾‍♀️ 3. Imagine it – you can ground your mental pictures by writing positive affirmations on pieces of paper and sticking them around the house. “Each surge is bringing me closer to my baby” and “My body knows what to do”. These become unconscious instructions that your body will naturally follow. 💭💬 4. Gather good birth stories – speak to other Mums who have had positive birth stories, see how you feel afterwards. You will probably feel reassured, excited and curious. Even a single positive story can make a huge difference. (tellmeagoodbirthstory.com). 💙💖 5. Eat well – good food will increase your vitality and energy and there are big emotional benefits too. Don’t worry ladies, chocolate is on that list as long as it’s a good quality chocolate. Even homemade cake. 🍫🥦🍑 6. Relaxation – hypnobirthing is a tried and tested tool for relaxing in birth. For available spaces please visit my website link above or contact me directly here. ⬆️
