Pregnant women develop baby brain

A lot of mothers (including me) feel that pregnancy made them forgetful. Although studies have shown that mothers’ brains do shrink towards the end of pregnancy, there is no evidence to suggest this has any effect on its performance. It may be that the subtle changes in the brain are preparing us for the challenges that is motherhood. While some women may suffer in some areas, like putting the car keys in the fridge or the milk in the press (aka cupboard.....press is an Irish word 😂), they benefit in other areas, like remembering information already stored in the brain. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Studies have shown that pregnant women seem to be less stressed, possibly as a result of higher levels of oestrogen. Regardless of how and why this happens, managing to stay calm is an invaluable skill in motherhood. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This starts of course in pregnancy as you prepare for labour and what better way to prepare yourself mentally and physically for labour is by doing hypnobirthing. You can thank me later 😘 . . . . 📷 @bethbluu
