The Uterus

🤯 WISDOM WEDNESDAY 🤯⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The uterus is the more commonly used term given to the womb once the baby has started growing. The uterus is the most amazing organ, with an enormous potential and capacity for growth and immense power. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the start of pregnancy the uterus is an almost solid structure. By the time you get to full term it has thinned out to become like a large inflated balloon and strong enough to push your baby out plus a large placenta. 🎈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The muscles of the uterus are the largest bag of muscles in the body and work to absolute capacity during labour. Just like every other muscle in the human body, they work in pairs each having their own function through the different stages of labour. These muscles will work with or without you so the best thing to do is move out of the way and let the body do what it is designed to do. Breathing techniques are the perfect complement to work with these sensations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s always good to remember that with each surge they will come, they will peak and then they will go, giving you and your body time to recover until the next one comes along. ⠀
